Say NO to the proposed £20 per week cut to Universal Credit
Fight for £20 increase for claimants on other benefits
We invite everyone to join the National Day of Action to fight plans to scrap the £20 uplift to Universal Credit. Called by Disabled People Against Cuts, Homes For All campaign and People Before Profit.

#20More4All because ESA, JSA, Carers Allowance have not been increased.
They are asking people to:
“Take and share selfies on the day using the hashtags #20More4All and #NoCutsToBenefits.
– Put a poster in your window. You can make your own or download one at http://peoplebefore-profit.com/resources/
– Write to your MP to tell them why we need the uplift. There is a template letter you can use – remember to include information about how the issue personally affects you as MPs respond better to personal rather than template letters.
– Make your own banners for local banner drops that can be done without breaking social distancing guidelines.
– Use your local media to raise awareness of the issue”

See this article quoting Marcus Rashford, “leader of the opposition”, who wants the £20 increase made permanent and an end to the two-child limit and read the Global Women’s Strike on Child poverty is government policy.
WinVisible recently updated our testimony on food supply and food access to the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs MPs’ Committee. Disabled women shielding are struggling with food supply, children and mums are not getting enough to eat or healthy food.
Under COVID-19 measures, disabled women are stuck on basic rate Universal Credit without the disability addition when their telephone Work Capability Assessment interview is deemed “inconclusive”. Contrary to official guidance that Maximus should gather evidence to resolve such cases, Maximus is insisting on a face-to-face assessment which is not possible and leaves people in limbo! We’re pursuing a complaint about this.
